Five pilgrims gone missing in Sri Pada forest reserve

Five pilgrims including two women who entered the Sri Pada forest reserve through the upper division of the Laxapana estate in Nallathanniya have gone missing this morning, the police said.

They said four of the pilgrims were residents of Nugegoda while the other was a Laxapana estate worker.

The police assisted by personnel from the Laxapana Army Camp have launched a search operation for those had gone missing. (Gamini Bandara Illangatilleka)
