Finally, some rain! Showers on the cards in several areas

Colombo, Feb 26 (Daily Mirror) - After days of dry weather in some regions, relief is on the way as showers or thundershowers are expected in several parts of the country. 

According to the Department of Meteorology, fairly heavy showers exceeding 75mm are likely in parts of the Eastern and Uva provinces, along with Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Polonnaruwa, Galle, Matara, Kalutara, and Ratnapura districts.

Further, rainfall is expected in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, and Hambantota districts while other areas will also experience showers or thundershowers in the afternoon or night.

Meanwhile, strong winds of 30-40 kmph are also expected in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and North-Western provinces, as well as in Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, and Hambantota districts.
