School Principal arrested over sex abuse

Colombo, June 22 (Daily Mirror) - The principal of a school in Koslanda in Bandarawela who had been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a ten year old schoolgirl was produced before Bandarawela Magistrate Gemunu Chandrasekara and remanded till July 10,’’The 56 year old suspect was a father of two children.

Investigations revealed that he had been conducting classes after school to help the students who will appear for the Year Five scholarship examination and that the victim was one of them.Police arrested him during investigations of a complaint received from the girl’s parents. OIC Koslanda Police O.C.Subasinghe conducted investigations and produced the suspect in courts.
