Father and daughter killed in wild elephant attack in Wilgamuwa

Colombo, May 15 (Daily Mirror) - A 56-year-old father and his 25-year-old daughter were killed in a wild elephant attack in the Hettipola area of Wilgamuwa on Friday morning.

Police said the incident occurred while the two were travelling by bicycle, with the father reportedly on his way to drop his daughter at her workplace when they were suddenly confronted by a wild elephant.

Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Their bodies were later moved to the Wilgamuwa Hospital.
