Energy Ministry to introduce aviation fuel instead of kerosene if required: Sec.

Following the increasing demand for kerosene, the Energy Ministry is contemplating to introduce aviation fuel to the market instead, if it is  required, the Ministry said.

Ministry Secretary K. D. R. Olga said that there is no change in the composition of kerosene and aviation fuel and there was no risk of using aviation fuel as a substitute for kerosene.

She said aviation fuel had been released to the market on several occasions earlier when the kerosene requirement could not meet the demand.

To convert aviation fuel to kerosene, all we have to do is add colour and odour, she added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
