Elder sister’s lover rapes younger sister

Colombo, July 22 (Daily Mirror) - A 17-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by her elder sister’s lover when she was alone at home.

The 25-year-old suspect from Walahanduwa in Akmeemana had been in love with her elder sister employed at a private establishment and a fellow worker of the suspect. He had been a visitor to the victim’s home.

On the day of the incident he had visited her home and left with her elder sister, had returned in short while after under the pretext of having forgotten his mobile phone charger. He had allegedly raped the younger sister who was alone at home at the time.

Police initiated investigations, arrested the susepct and produced the victim before the JMO of the Karapitiyia Teaching Hospital who reported that she had been raped.

The suspect was produced before the Galle magistrate and remanded. 

A police team under OIC Women and Children’s Burea of the Galle Police, IP Gayani is conducting further investigations on the instructions of HQI S.S. Jayaweera.
