Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma resigns as MP, set to become Treasury secretary

Colombo, June 20 (Daily Mirror) - Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma has tendered his resignation as a Member of Parliament.

The move comes ahead of his expected appointment as the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance.

The Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera has informed the Chairman of the Election Commission in writing that a vacancy has arisen in Parliament due to the resignation of Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma

According to the letter submitted by Suriyapperuma, the resignation is effective from June 20, 2025.
