Discussions fail, TU action to continue: Station Masters’ Union

Discussions between the government and the Railways General Manager (GMR) failed today and the Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters' Union (SLRSMU) has decided to continue with the current trade union action.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror SLRSMU said they decided to refrain from transporting and accepting parcels and issuing tickets from 12.00 midnight on December 24 due to serious problems faced by station masters.

The train services are operating as usual without a delay but accepting parcels for transportation and the goods wagons required to transport parcels have not been arranged. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
