Derailment causes disruption on coastal line

Colombo, March 19 (Daily Mirror) - Train services along the Coastal Line faced a significant setback this evening following a derailment near the Secretariat Station. 

The incident, which occurred shortly after a train's departure from Colombo Fort station at 7:15 p.m has led to disruptions in the southbound route towards Kalutara South.

Sources indicate that the affected train veered off the track near the Secretariat Station, prompting concerns for the safety of passengers and the integrity of the railway infrastructure. 

As a consequence, commuters travelling towards southern destinations can anticipate substantial delays or potential cancellations of their scheduled train services.
