Decision on A/L, Grade 5 exams to be announced next Tuesday: Minister

A decision will be taken during this week on conducting the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) and Grade 5 scholarship examinations, Education Minister G.L. Pieris said.

Addressing the media at Nelum Mawatha, he said the decision would be taken without causing injustice to anyone.

A discussion held this morning with nine provincial education directors about using the zoom technology.

Another detailed discussions would also take place with the provincial education directors, principals and teachers on conducting the GCE A/L and Grade 5 examinations in October or to postpone due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Minister Pieris said. 

Accordingly, the decision would be announced by next Tuesday (20) after having favourable discussions with the relevant personnel, the Minister added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
