Deadline to submit applications for A/L, grade 5 exams extended: Comm. General

The due date for accepting applications for the G.C.E. Advanced Level and Grade 5 scholarship examinations has been extended to September 15, the Examinations Department said.

The Department's Commissioner General Sanath B. Pujitha, said the decision was taken because students were unable to apply for the examinations due to COVID outbreak and quarantine curfew.

Therefore, the A/L and Grade 5 scholarship candidates will have the opportunity to forward their applications until September 15, he said. 

The A/L Examination will be held from November 15 to December 10 and the Grade-Five-Scholarship Examination on November 14.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic in the country resulted in delaying the exams.

Earlier, the Examinaions Department had scheduled to conduct the A/L examination from October 4 to 30. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
