Colombo High Court postpones verdict in ex-Deputy Minister’s bribery case

Colombo, April 30 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo High Judge Mohammed Mihail today ordered that the pronouncement of judgment in four cases filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena over corruption charges be postponed till May 26.

The four cases had been filed by the Bribery Commission alleging that during his tenure as Chairman of the National Lotteries Board in 2006, Gunawardena had caused a loss to the State by procuring vehicles for the Board on a rental basis.
