CBK refutes reports her son Vimukthi entering politics

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga refuted media reports that her son Vimukthi was planning to enter into active politics.

She said issuing a statement that there was no truth in the reports and that she has totally refused such false news reports.

She said her son had no desire or need to enter into politics and that she did not want him to undergo the dedications and hardships experienced by the Bandaranaikes on behalf of politics.

Even though he loved the country very much, politics was not the only way that he could serve the country.

Ms. Kumaratunge requested people not to be deceived by such fake news. (Ajith Siriwardana)
