Budget of SLPP ruled Ratnapura PS defeated

The budget for the year 2022 of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) ruled Ratnapura Pradeshiya Sabha has been defeated by one vote.

Accordingly, 17 members voted in favour while 18 voted against.

12 SLPP members, five SLFP members voted in favour of the budget while 12 SLFP members, five SLPP members and one JVP member voted against it.

The Deputy Chairman is among those voted against the budget. 

Therefore, the budget requires to be amended and presented within two weeks. (Ajithlal Shantha Udaya)
