Brother in law of drugs smuggler ’Ran Malli’ arrested with Rs. 13.9Mn

A 30-year old suspect, the brother in law of underworld figure 'Ran Malli' who is operating from Dubai, had been arrested with Rs. 13.9 million in cash buried inside a house at Hiripitiya in Pannipitiya.

Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said that the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) arrested the suspect identified as Dinesh Lakmal following the interogating suspects arrested earlier with over 200kg of heroin in Southern caost of the country.

It was revealed that drugs smugglers Nadun Chinthaka allias 'Harak Kata' and Charith Sandakelum allias 'Ran Malli' who are operating from Dubai had involved with the smuggling heroin into the country.

The brother in law of Ran Malli was operating as the local agent of them to conduct drugs trafficking and handle money in Sri Lanka.

The suspect ws brought to the PNB for further investigation.
