Bimal Rathnayake takes train ride, passengers pose questions

Colombo, Jan 20 (Daily Mirror) - A video circulating on social media shows Minister of Transport Bimal Rathnayake travelling as an ordinary passenger, with commuters raising concerns about various issues affecting the train service.

Rathnayake was travelling from Moratuwa to Colombo Fort, engaging in conversations with passengers about problems affecting train services. 

It was reported that the train on which the Minister was travelling was reported to have arrived approximately 13 minutes late.

During the journey, passengers were seen raising issues such as frequent train delays, malfunctioning electric fans, difficulties faced by people with disabilities, unsanitary conditions at stations, and the continued use of outdated, unsafe trains.

During the journey, the minister made brief stops at several railway stations to observe conditions firsthand.
