Austrian tourist dies, three others injured in highway accident

Mahabage, Jan 26 (Daily Mirror) - An Austrian national died and three other foreigners injured when the van they were travelling in collided against the back of a lorry on the Katunayake Expressway near the 27th kilometre post this morning.

Police said the van carrying tourists travelling towards Kerawalapitiya from Kawadatha collided with the lorry travelling in the same direction.

The injured tourists were admitted to the Colombo North Teaching Hospital where the 37-year-old Austrian tourist died on admission.

The Mahabage Police are conducting further investigations.
