Adverse weather affects 20,000

Colombo,January 21 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 20,000 people from 6,797 families have been affected across fifteen districts due to natural disasters such as flash floods, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

It is reported that 18 safe locations have been established and 228 people from 686 families have been relocated to these safe places.

However, two deaths and three injuries have been reported as a result of the flash floods.

According to the DMC's situation report, one house has been completely destroyed while 174 houses have been partially damaged.
