6-year-old killed as three-wheeler topples

A 6-year-old girl was killed after she was thrown out of a three-wheeler in Moratuwa on the Galle Road last night.

Police said the three-wheeler has toppled onto the girl after she fell out of the vehicle which was travelling towards Colombo.

The vehicle travelling at a high speed had attempted to take a u-turn.

The victim Dhananjani Hansika, a resident of Moratuwa was admitted to the Lunawa Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The victim's father who was driving the three-wheeler has been arrested. (DS)
