Colombo, June 26 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) yesterday (25) awarded air tickets to a group of 16 Sri Lankan youths scheduled to travel to Japan under the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP).

The group includes four young women trained in nursing, four youths for manufacturing jobs and eight young men trained in the construction sector.

This initiative is part of the ongoing programme conducted under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IM Japan and the SLBFE, aimed at providing technical in-service training opportunities for Sri Lankan nationals in Japan.

To date, 589 Sri Lankans have travelled to Japan under this programme.

According to the Bureau, more than 100 additional trainees are currently undergoing pre-departure training in preparation for their placements in Japan. In addition, a special programme has been introduced to support those who successfully complete their training period in Japan and return to Sri Lanka to start their own businesses, contributing to local economic development.
