Colombo, May 5 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lankan musical group 'Knights' has secured the runner-up position at the 'Battle of the Bands – International' competition held in Mumbai, India.
The band returned to Sri Lanka this morning, arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.
This year’s edition of the competition - broadcast by Indian state television channel Doordarshan - was the first to feature international acts, following three years of Indian-only participation.
Bands from Mauritius, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Singapore, Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Spain, and the UK took part in the contest, which ran from March 1 to May 4.
The top prize was awarded to a band from the Mauritius.
The 'Knights' lineup includes Tharindu Nirmana, Danidu Perera, Rukshan Silva, Kavishka Ashan, and Geesara Wijekoon.
