It was observed by dermatologists that prickly heat and illnesses are very common among children due to this extreme heat.
The groups of people who are most vulnerable to this heat wave prevailing in Sri Lanka are elderly people, young children, pregnant women, people with chronic medical conditions, outdoor workers, and people who are homeless. Hence, being aware and taking prompt action to be in the safe zone has become extremely important.
