The CID today recorded a statement from Health Minister and former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake at his residence about the alleged forged signature in a purported secret agreement between UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and Presidential Candidate Maithripala Sirisena, Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said.
Common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena had sent a letter of demand for Rs. 2.5 billion from Health Minister Tissa Attanayake for presenting the alleged forged document.
Mr. Sirisena cited that the forged signature had tarnished his image and therefore he had sent the letter of demand through his lawyer. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
