By the way, the successor to the post due to fall vacant will not be one from among the party members already in the Diyawanna council, say some inside sources.

The party chief has already said that a professional who will not participate in the electoral process will get this high post, the same sources say. 

The name of a university don is mentioned in this connection, they say. 

The politico who is already holding this high post is not at all willing to quit this post. However, he may not be able to hold on to it, as both seniors and the rank and file in the party have rallied against him, they say.
