A certain senior purohita decided to appoint hand-picked persons to top positions in several institutions coming directly under the purview of his Ministry.
By the way, Number One had already sent out a circular letter laying down the guidelines to be followed in making such appointments. However, the senior purohita sent his lists to Number One without bothering to follow those guidelines.
When Number One received these lists, he had carefully gone through the names in the lists and had consigned all lists to the waste paper basket.
The purohita with a 40-year career at Diyawanna had gone livid when he heard where his lists of appointees had ended!
Lists submitted by another purohita who is said to be more sophisticated in his ways too had suffered the same fate, they say.
