UnuUnu, a recently conceptualized startup launches a first-of-its-kind tea delivery in Colombo.
Opened to the public in April 2021, the tea joint has been a popular attraction to the people of the buzzing capital of Sri Lanka.

Rinaz Rafaideen; an award-winning marketer with more than a decade of experience in Marketing, traveller, tea lover. While sipping a good cup of tea with natural spices while he was abroad, he was inspired to create a similar experience to Sri Lanka, a nation with a name for tea throughout the world.

With the help of Haaziq Jaleel and Nuzri Munsoor, his childhood friends, the venture took off, selling their first cup of tea in April, after the country opened up from a second nationwide lockdown.

Initially planned for a launch in 2020, UnuUnu had been in rigorous planning since the latter part of 2019. Although the pandemic played spoilsport in the dreams of many people, this tea joint has garnered tremendous reception from the youth and adults alike.

UnuUnu began their journey with two original varieties of tea—Saffron Tea & Milkmaid Cardamom Tea. Now, their menu has doubled with the launch of two more products in July—Spiced Plain Tea & Spiced Lime Tea.
The specialty about their tea is that each cup is specially brewed; careful detailing is given to each unique order. UnuUnu champions the individual experience.

The onset of the pandemic has seen a rise in popularity for online delivery among the masses, and UnuUnu gets innovative with their delivery.

For the first time in Sri Lanka, they launch their delivery with the use of a special tea-flask. The Tea Box, as they dearly call it is capable of containing heat for a relatively greater amount of time. Moreover, they are safe and easy to carry around.

UnuUnu has partnered with both the premier food delivery platforms; Uber Eats and PickMe Foods. Another way a tea lover can order a box of tea is using their WhatsApp portal.

“We hope to deliver our tea experience to people that can’t visit the spot daily. People at work who need a break, or are at home, especially during the pandemic, are the ones we hope to reach with this,” said Rinaz when asked about his plans with the launch of delivery.

Located at No.27, Jaya Road, Bambalapitiya, UnuUnu is determined to spice up the nation with spell-binding tea. The tea joint is open every day from 3 p.m. till midnight, serving until the last customer. Now with the launch of their delivery, you have one more way to get your tea for the day.
