Do’s and Don’ts in Cosmetic industry

The Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) is organising a workshop titled “Cosmetic Industry in Sri Lanka: What you should know” on Wednesday, September 25 at its Main Auditorium.

The cosmetics industry like in the food industry has many areas of concern. Considering that its products are used by or applied to the human body, safety or fitness for use is a matter to becarefully addressed, when manufacturing these products.

At this awareness workshop, challenges faced by the cosmetic industry will be addressed with
presentations on:

  • Analysis and handling of cosmetics and
  • Rules and regulations,
  • Challenges in cosmetic formulations,
  • Marketing and product trends,
The talks are delivered by reputed personnel in the cosmetic trade, regulatory authorities and scientists. Prof Tuley De Silva - R and D Consultant on Herbal Healthcare Products at Link Natural Products (Pvt) Ltd., Dilshard Perera - Chief Operating Officer, 4ever Skin Naturals, Dr. Rohan Perera - Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Chemistry, University of Colombo, B. Wijegunasekera - Head, Chemical and Microbiology Lab, ITI and Dr Menuka Arawwawela - Research Scientist, Herbal Technology Section, ITI will be among the resource persons.

An interactive session with time for questions and discussions with a panel of experts will give
an opportunity to network and solve issues of common interest.
