HelpAge receiving tills from Selan Bank
Sri Lanka’s premier social service organisation, HelpAge Sri Lanka (HASL), recently received new collection tills from Seylan Bank, a leading Bank in Sri Lanka. The tills are used to collect funds to provide free medical facilities to underprivileged elderly citizens across the country.
Accordingly, Seylan Bank donated 10 Co-branded new collection tills to HelpAge. These tills will also be added to the tills already placed in countrywide supermarkets and various other business premises.
HelpAge Sri Lanka is a Non-Profit Charitable Organisation which is dedicated to resolving social, medical and low-vision issues faced by destitute elderly citizens in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at the event, Executive Director Dr. Harsha Bandara stated that these funds will be primarily utilised to perform cataract surgeries at their specialised eye hospital in Wellawatta.
“It is heartening to note that there is a marked improvement in donations being made by the public towards the free cataract surgery programme, which has been successfully carried out by HelpAge over the past 40 years,” Dr. Bandara said.
HelpAge Sri Lanka wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Seylan Bank for this generous donation.
At the official ceremony, Seylan Bank was represented by Chief Operating Officer Ranil Dissanayake and Team, while HelpAge Sri Lanka was represented by Executive Director Dr. Harsha Bandara with the
HelpAge Team.
