Upul Jayasuriya, PC conferred with distinguished life membership

Former President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (2013–2015), Upul Jayasuriya, PC, was conferred the distinguished Life Membership Honoris Causa at the Annual Convocation held to induct Rajeeve Amarasuriya, President of the BASL for the term 2026–2027, at a ceremony held at Waters Edge.   

Jayasuriya is also a recipient of the prestigious “Rule of Law” Award presented by the Commonwealth Lawyers Association in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the advancement of the rule of law.   

This year marks a significant milestone in his career as he completes 50 years at the Bar. His legal practice has been wide-ranging, including a strong emphasis on public interest litigation.
