Two NPP members of Weligama PS abducted

Two NPP members of Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha had been  abducted last morning when they were on their way to attend the  inaugural meeting of the Pradeshiya Sabha to elect a chairman.  

The two members, one a female, had been travelling by  trishaw to attend the meeting when an unidentified group in a double cab  that followed had obstructed the trishaw and abducted them.  

The driver of the trishaw was the female member’s husband.  However, he had been threatened by the abductors not to disclose the  incident.  

The two members had been left by the roadside at Devata in Galle. Later they had lodged a complaint with Kananke Police.  

Kananke Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspects.
