Torrent of muddy water in Ravana Ella

Ravana Ella Falls had been affected by a sudden torrent of muddy water last afternoon and residents in Wellawaya, Thanamalwila and those living on the banks of the Kirindi Oya have been warned to be cautious of any possible danger.   

A senior official of the Badulla District Disaster Management Centre said Nayabedda range on the boundary of Bandarawela town experienced heavy rain yesterday and that the Ravana Ella falls had swelled.   

However, he said the people living in Wellawaya, Thanamalwila and on the banks of Kirindi Oya should be watchful of the situation.
