Teachers’ absence at PM’s meeting: Tangalle education zone office seeks explanation

The Zonal Education Office in Tangalle has instructed all school principals in the Tangalle Education Zone to submit reports explaining the non-participation of teachers at a special meeting held on March 15, 2026, at the Tangalle Town Hall under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.  

In a circular issued by the Zonal Education Director W. A. S. D Kalyani on Monday (23), principals were informed that the meeting had been organized for teachers in the Tangalle Education Zone and that attendance details had been requested earlier by the Zonal Office. According to the directive, principals must provide the reasons for the absence of teachers from their respective schools at the meeting and submit the information to the Zonal Education Office before (March 26) yesterday. 

The Zonal Education Director further said that the reports should be sent without delay as the information is required for official purposes.
