Mother, daughter attacked by wild elephant in Kasikote

In a latest incident involving human- elephant conflict, a mother and her 28-year-old daughter were attacked by a wild elephant last morning while on their way to a paddy field in the Kasikote area of Galgamuwa, police said.    Both victims were rushed to the Kurunegala Hospital for treatment.   

Following the incident, residents reportedly set fire to the paddy field in protest. Police further noted that a disabled army personnel was also attacked by a wild elephant in the same area yesterday while walking along the road.
