Mastermind behind Easter Sunday attacks: only judiciary can rule- Lakshman Kiriella

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) stalwart former Minister Lakshman Kiriella said yesterday that a ruling should be sought from court regarding the mastermind of the Easter Sunday bombings without standing in the way of the judicial process.  

Mr. Kiriella who is the father of SJB MP Chamindrani Kiriella told a press conference that ‘B’ report which runs into 25 pages had been presented to court  

“The successive governments worked out a number of commissions to probe the attack. There were recommendations. Yet, no report had been submitted to court. Now, there is a report presented before court,” he said.  

He said that it is appropriate for everyone to wait for the judiciary to decide on it.  “Allegations have been levelled at various individuals, but the judiciary only can rule finally. Why should anyone stand in the way of it? We have an excellent judicial system in our country,” he said.
