Heavy rain and thick mist in Central hills

Heavy rain and thick mist experienced in the western slopes of the central hills has obstructed civilian life and transport in several areas.   Police said inclement weather has been experienced since Wednesday evening.   

They said heavy rain and thick mist has been causing obstructions to traffic on Hatton- Nuwara Eliya, Welimada-Nuwara Eliya, and Gampola-Nuwara Eliya main highways.   

Police request drivers to be cautious of any possible dangers when passing through the affected areas.
