Gang abducts 17-year-old schoolgirl

A 17-year-old schoolgirl travelling with her mother on a motorcycle had been waylaid and abducted at Gangeyaya junction in  Thanamalwila, allegedly by a gang including her previous lover. She was a  grade 12 student of a school in the area.   

When the gang, travelling on two motorcycles, obstructed the  way and attempted to abduct the girl, her father rushed to the  scene. However, the three men had severely assaulted the girl’s mother  and father with helmets and abducted her by force.   

One of the suspects had been identified as the girl’s  previous lover from Thanamalwila area who had been jilted recently by  her.   

A police team under OIC Thanamalwila Police IP D.M.P.Bandara is conducting further investigations to arrest the suspects.
