Dispute between wives of two sons ends in acid attack at police station

• The altercation occurred when the father of one woman’s husband had filed a complaint alleging that she had plucked tea leaves from his estate without permission

A family dispute between the wives of two sons escalated into a violent acid attack at Kalawana Police Station yesterday (18), leaving two people hospitalized at Kalawana Base Hospital. 

The altercation occurred when the father of one woman’s husband had filed a complaint alleging that she had plucked tea leaves from his estate without permission. During the visit to submit the complaint, tensions flared between the two women, resulting in one of them throwing acid.  

Both the woman who were attacked and another person present at the station sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital. The perpetrator has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
