A Girl injured in Ella accident still fighting for life

Badulla Teaching Hospital Director Dr. Palitha Rajapaksha, lamented that he faces a disciplinary inquiry regarding a statement made by him on shortage of drugs in 2022.   

Addressing the media, he said “I can’t even wear a suit properly as I sustained injuries when treating the injured in the Ella bus accident. However, I have been summoned to provide a statement over the inquiry.   

He was yesterday summoned by the Public Service Commission to record a statement.   

Dr Rajapaksha played a pivotal role in treating the injured in the recent tragic accident in Ella.   

Meanwhile, speaking to the Daily Mirror, Dr. Rajapaksha said a girl who was injured in the tragic accident in Ella is in critical condition and is being treated at the ICU.   

“Of the 17 injured passengers, many have been discharged and four are being treated at the ICU,” he said.   

“However, their condition is stable except the condition of the girl,” he added.
