The 175th anniversary celebrations of S. Thomas’ College took place in Mount Lavinia last week. A significant event was the launch of book, ‘Enduring Works: The Thomian Journey’ authored by Uditha Devapriya. Warden Asanka Perera presented a complementary copy of the book to Professor G.L. Peiris, a distinguished alumnus of the College.
One of Sri Lanka’s leading bass guitarists, Sudath Priyashantha Fernando, seeks well-wishers support to undergo an urgent kidney transplant as he is suffering from an end-stage renal failure.
Former permanent bass guitarist of Seeduwa Sakura musical band, Sudath who is fondly called ‘Suda’, has been a renowned name in Sri Lanka’s music industry, a sought-after member of many bands for several decades.
At present Sudath is undergoing treatment under Consultant Nephrologist Dr. S. Mathu attached to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL), and has been undergoing regular dialysis at both the National Hospital and private hospitals.
Sudath has to urgently undergo the transplant with a B positive or O positive kidney which the operation would cost around Rs. 10 million. Music lovers and the kind-hearted are requested to help Sudath to recover soon, as his family needs urgent financial support.
