Heart to Heart Fund receives Rs. 5 million in donation from students of Musaeus College

The Heart to Heart Trust Fund has collected Rs. 5 million through a generous donation from the students of Musaeus College, further bolstering its efforts to support life-saving cardiac care across Sri Lanka.

The contribution was the result of a till collection campaign held between February and March 2025, led by Deshamanya Ajita de Zoysa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Musaeus College and a Trustee of the Heart to Heart Trust Fund. Participation was entirely voluntary, yet the response from the school community was overwhelmingly generous.

The Heart to Heart Trust Fund expressed its gratitude, describing the donation as a testament to the compassion, empathy, and civic responsibility of the students. The initiative reflects a maturity and moral clarity that extends beyond the classroom, serving as a powerful example of youth leadership in action.

Musaeus College has a longstanding relationship with the Trust. In 2022, the school raised Rs. 15 million, bringing its total contributions to Rs. 20 million. These funds have helped facilitate dozens of cardiac surgeries, offering patients and their families a second chance at life.

In addition to the student-led efforts, Deshamanya Ajita de Zoysa personally donated Rs. 10 million to the Trust this year. The money raised will go toward supporting patients in urgent need—many of whom are primary earners in their families—helping to save lives and restore household stability.

The Heart to Heart Trust Fund was established to ensure that no one in Sri Lanka suffers or dies from heart disease due to financial hardship.

“This continued support from the Musaeus College community is a powerful reminder that when compassion leads, lasting change follows,” the Trust said in a statement.
