Civil society recognises special services to the society

Recognising the service offered to the society, culture and heritage, several individuals and organisations were presented with awards and honourary titles at a special event organised by All Sri Lanka Revival Foundation for the Preservation of Global Hela Traditional medicine, Sethsanda Alternative Naturopathy University and Geneva Human Rights Organisation.

The event was held at the Tulip Hall of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on February 15. Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) was recognised with National Heritage Media Award for the upliftment of the Sri Lankan heritage. The Geneva Human Rights Organisation, presented certificates to the Prime Minister’s Office recognising the efforts in educational reform and to Anusha Gokula, Secretary to the Uva Province for her service extended to the upliftment of agriculture. 

Ven. Olande Ananda Thera, Sethsanda Alternative University Chancellor Prof. S.H. Perera, President of Geneva Human Rights Organisation Alternative Dr. Virajith Bandara, Astronomer Dr. Anura C. Perera, Secretary of all the institutes Alt. Dr. Ruwan Weerarathna, Dr. Sandawaruna Hansitha and Dr. Gunawardana addressed the gathering.

Magician Lakruwan Sujeeva a.k.a. Mr. Magic entertained the audience with a magic show and Sangeeth Nipun Thanuja Jayawickrama presented a classical musical performance. Artist Wickramasiri Jayawickrama corrdinated the show on behalf of the organisers.
