A New Era of Leadership: 36th Installation of Rotaract Club of Colombo East



The Rotaract Club of Colombo East held its 36th Installation Ceremony at the Akbar Brothers Auditorium. The evening brought together over 180 attendees, including Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, distinguished guests, and well-wishers, all gathered to celebrate the club’s achievements and welcome its new leadership.

The highlight of the evening was the official collaring of Rtr. Rezon David as the 36th President of the Rotaract Club of Colombo East, followed by the appointment of his board of officials for the year 2025/26. His installation marked the beginning of a new chapter of service and leadership, building on the legacy of commitment and excellence established by his predecessors. In his address, Rtr. Rezon shared his vision for the year ahead, emphasising innovation, community engagement, and fostering stronger bonds within the Rotaract movement.

The ceremony was graced by several esteemed guests. District Governor Delvin Pereira, who attended as Chief Guest, inspired the audience with his words of encouragement to unite for good. Rtn. PHF Dillon Henderlin was honored as the Guest of Honor, while Mr. Imran Akbarally joined as Guest of Distinction and District Rotaract Chair Rtn. PP. Haneekah Rahil further reflected the strong ties the club maintains with both Rotary and the wider community. Each of these distinguished guests commended the club’s dedication and urged members to continue striving for meaningful impact in the years ahead.

The event drew participants from across the Rotary family, with members of Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Clubs present to show their support. Their presence underscored the spirit of unity and fellowship that defines the Rotary movement. With a vibrant mix of youth energy and seasoned leadership, the ceremony was both celebratory and inspiring.

As the Rotaract Club of Colombo East embarks on its 36th year, the newly installed board under the leadership of Rtr. Rezon David is poised to continue driving service projects, leadership initiatives, and community engagement. The installation served as a reminder of the club’s enduring mission: to create positive change while nurturing the next generation of leaders.
