WCIC Trailblazers’ Walk 2025 40th Anniversary

The Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) marked a significant milestone with the Trailblazers’ Walk, a commemorative event recently held to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Over 200 participants - including members, entrepreneurs, corporate partners, and supporters - gathered for the morning walk from Independence Square to Viharamahadevi Park Open Air Theatre, honouring four decades of empowering women in business. The event concluded with a symbolic tree planting ceremony and a short post-walk celebration featuring a drum performance by Thuryaa – the female drums ensemble of Sri Lanka, followed by addresses from WCIC Chairperson, Gayani de Alwis and the Mayor of Colombo, Vraie Cally Balthazaar, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
