Voetlights Society 2025 Annual Gala Dinner

The annual gala dinner of the Voetlights Society 2025 was recently held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo. This event is an occasion to toast a 17th-18th century Dutch jurist Jonannes Voet who influenced the development of Roman-Dutch law and to 'roast' senior judges, lawyers and fellow 'Voetlighters' in a convivial evening at the end of term of the country's legal fraternity. This traditional sit-down dinner commenced in 1899 and this year's dinner was the 113th. This year's President is Murshid Maharoof and the Scribe is Nirmalan Wigneswaran.
