Sing for our Chapel SHEPHERDIAN CHAPEL CHIMES

Camaraderie and bonhomie were the hallmarks of the sing-along held recently at the Liberty Ballroom of the Ramada by Wyndham. The event was organised by the Past Pupils’ Association of Good Shepherd Convent, Kotahena to raise funds for urgent and essential repairs to their beloved 156 year old School Chapel, where lessons of faith, kindness and the enduring power of community were learned. It was a nostalgic reunion of old friends and classmates, past teachers and students.

With the ever popular band BLACK performing, the evening’s proceedings were compered by Peter D’Almeida of Koombiyo fame. After a brief introduction, the opening prayer was led by Rev. Sister Madonna Wimaladasa, Leader of the Convent Community of Rev. Sisters and also the Patron of the Association.  A very warm welcome extended by Priyanthie Fernando, President of the PPA, was followed by the School Anthem meaningfully led by the award-winning School Senior Choir who, thereafter, entertained the guests with a selection of popular favourites.
