IF Villa Soft Opening

Talpe - IF Villa, one of the southern coast’s most iconic beachfront villas, has recently reopened under new management, marking a refreshed chapter for the much-loved property. The reopening was celebrated with a relaxed soft opening attended by friends of the house, local creatives, and longtime supporters.

Designed by acclaimed Sri Lankan designer Philip Weeraratne, the revived IF Villa retains the timeless charm that made it one of the first villas in the area, while introducing a contemporary sensibility. The design thoughtfully blends colonial-style architecture with layered Sri Lankan craftsmanship, curated art, and open, light-filled spaces that flow effortlessly toward the ocean.

Adding to this new chapter is a thoughtfully developed culinary program by celebrity Chef Koluu, known for his ingredient-driven approach and modern interpretations of Sri Lankan flavours. The menu at IF Villa focuses on freshness, seasonality, and a sense of place, offering guests a dining experience that feels both elevated and rooted in local food culture.

The soft opening reflected the spirit of the villa itself: unpretentious, welcoming, and rooted in a sense of home. Guests gathered in the courtyard and by the pool at sunset, enjoying Koluu’s dishes in an atmosphere that emphasised connection and the simple pleasure of being by the sea.
