Engrained in people, place and purpose, ‘Fox Resorts’, part of the Capital Maharaja Group, continues to redefine destination-led hospitality in Sri Lanka. This ethos has now been reinforced with two prestigious accolades that recognise both the Group’s investment in human capital and its distinctive footprint in the country’s northern tourism landscape.
Fox Resorts has been awarded the Great HR Award 2025, Certificate of Excellence in the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Sector, while Fox Jaffna by Fox Resorts has been named ‘Best Accommodation Provider’ at the Northern Province Tourism Awards 2025, underscoring its role in shaping authentic, community-driven tourism in the region.
These recognitions affirm Fox Resorts’ belief that exceptional hospitality is built through invested people and a deep respect for place, culture, and community.
The Great HR Awards 2025 recognise organisations demonstrating structured and effective human resource practices that positively impact employee engagement and organisational performance. Receiving the Certificate of Excellence in the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Sector is a significant milestone for Fox Resorts, underscoring the Group’s long-standing commitment to investing in its people.
Fox Resorts focuses on employee welfare programmes, motivation initiatives, and clear career progression pathways. The Group invests in training, performance-based development, and internal promotions to encourage long-term careers. Employee satisfaction is measured, monitored, and reviewed regularly, ensuring teams feel valued, supported, and inspired.
Hospitality is a profoundly human industry, shaped by genuine smiles, thoughtful gestures, and moments of care that make guests feel welcomed. These experiences come from people who feel proud and motivated — and the Great HR Certificate of Excellence recognises that when employees thrive, authentic hospitality follows naturally.
Fox Jaffna by Fox Resorts was awarded Best Accommodation Provider at the inaugural Northern Province Tourism Awards 2025, recognising excellence in tourism across Sri Lanka’s Northern Province. The awards celebrate establishments that uphold high service standards while authentically representing the region’s heritage, culture, and identity.

Fox Jaffna stands as the only truly authentic hotel experience in Jaffna, offering guests the feeling of staying in a traditional home rather than a conventional hotel. Housed in a restored heritage building, the property reflects the warmth and character of the region. Guests enjoy authentic Jaffna cuisine, prepared using traditional recipes, and a preserved bunker experience. One bunker has been converted into a history museum, allowing guests to explore the rich history and heritage of the country from a single place, without leaving the hotel.
Since its inception in June 2018 as a Heritage Hotel, Fox Jaffna has painted a new picture for the hospitality in Jaffna Peninsula.
Built in 1908, this historic house was once the home of an illustrious Northern family but has gone through many turbulent years during the past.
Fox Resort Jaffna offers 28 luxury living spaces including 4 luxury suites in the main Colonial bungalow and 24 deluxe rooms in six villas. Paying homage to the colours and architectural style of the North, the four Suites in the main bungalow are decorated after George Keyt. Six new villas pay homage to other local artistes with each villa displaying art from a famous local artiste.
‘Fox Jaffna Resort’ offers specialty dining experience to its guests. Executive Chef is the master of Sri Lankan cuisine specialised in Jaffna culinary secrets.
‘Jaffna is famous for seafood and varied traditional Tamil preparations of authentic cuisine vegetarian and non-veg. Our chicken dishes are from village fowl. Seafood is also straight from the beach and we do not serve any freezed seafood’ he said.
‘Fox Jaffna’ has only one all day dining restaurant. It offers any kind of cuisine around the globe including aromatic and flavourful preparations from Jaffna and India. The main restaurant brings to life the distinct and tantalising tastes of this region’s unique and indigenous spices for guests to experience.
‘When you have a spirited team dedicated to offering true, honest, and heartfelt hospitality, supported by a management team that is equally committed to looking after its people, recognitions of this nature become a natural outcome. These awards belong to our teams, whose passion and care are felt in every guest experience we create’ said Suresh Srinivasan, Group CEO of Fox Resorts.
As Fox Resorts grows, these awards serve as both recognition and inspiration, to continue shaping Sri Lanka’s boutique hospitality landscape with authenticity, care, and human connection.
