Due to the shortage of paper for printing utility bills, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has decided to introduce digital payment methods with a receipt.
NWSDB Additional General Manager (Billing) Piyal Pathmanatha said with the prevailing dollar crisis in the country, the companies that import papers for printing utility bills are faced with numerous difficulties.
Therefore, the NWSDB is contemplating to introduce alternative methods to help consumers to settle their bills. We have already introduced many digital billing methods which prevent consumers standing in queues to make their payment.
With this introduction, consumers cannot make any excuse when it comes to paying their bills. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

What a bright idea, when may be more than 75% of the consumers do not have access to the internet and will have a difficult time understanding these bills.

Part of the country's much touted digitalisation process with less than 30% of the population having Internet access, no food to eat, no gas, no fuel, rising cost of living, stagnant wages, public and private debt at galactic levels, bloated Govt and vanity projects still going on........'Wonder of Asia!'

Why don't you make water also digital. The IT minister can do that.
