A special programme will soon be implemented to provide vaccines against COVID-19 to people working in the tourism industry, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said.
He stated that the decision was made with the goal of reviving the country's tourism sector, despite the pandemic situation.
He expressed his thoughts during a meeting held at the Batticaloa District Secretariat recently.
During the meeting, there was a discussion about prioritizing concessions for those who had previously worked in the tourism industry and restoring their industry. However there was some kind of miscommunication in messages reaching them, the Minister said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

This is a real joker government. One minister says vaccinate all bus crews. Another says vaccine all school kids and children. Another says vaccinate all university students. Another says vaccinate all monks and the list grows. There is limited amount of vaccine and no proper mythology is practiced. It is a "Holy Mess".
