A tense situation was reported at a vaccination center at Dodanduwa in Galle when the health officials stopped giving Covid-19 vaccines.
It was reported that the authorities at the Hikkaduwa MOH office had stopped giving vaccines after a group of people at the vaccination center behaved in an unruly manner claiming that authorities had given vaccines to several people in the Rathgama MOH area instead of giving priority to those who were at the center.
People claimed that health authorities left the center with the remaining stock of vaccines brought at the center.
They alleged that though the vaccination card of some people had been marked as given the vaccine, they had not been vaccinated.
The authorities claimed they stopped giving vaccines as they were unable to control the situation. The health officials said they left the place to visit on another day.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya and D.G. Sugathapala)

These MOH people are definitely working for the opposition. Just imagine if these people were given monopoly in Vaccine drive. Thanks to the Army, we have some order at their centers.

Our people will never learn manners. They think they are very well brought up and coming from a good historical back ground. I don't blame the authorities. This goes for all. Those who think they are well to do as well as the lesser. Very few will behave decently. As for those who think an app based appointment system would work, sorry about those who are not tech savvy - but even those who are will not bother. They will only be keen on sharing garbage on social media! They will not use apps for a sane purpose.

Cards are anyway marked before giving the vaccine at all centres and all officers seems to be calm in this video. He may have tried to get a vaccine for him or a family member, so when officers refused he may have created this at the centre. Most of the time the issue happens when some individuals try to get the 2nd vaccine from a different centre that provides 2nd vaccine only to those who got the vaccine from that centre only.
